“I am certain that our lives will be filled with laughter and adventures, late-night conversations and hypothetical problem solving, of good food and great cups of coffee, of quality time with family and friends, of slow mornings and other silly things we get to share for the rest of our lives. The future may be bleak, but starting today, I will rest easy knowing that I have your hand to hold, as we face all our challenges together.” – Bec
BEFORE THEIR INTIMATE SUPREME COURT WEDDING: MATCH MADE IN BUMBLE
What are the odds that you’ll meet your forever person in an online space? Nico and Bec did! It all started in Bumble. Bec was de-stressing after a hectic week and decided to chat with a few matches. That day, she matched with Nico. They chatted and later that evening, they talked through a voice call. When Bec first heard Nico’s voice, she was like, “Crush ko agad ang boses niya!”
The next day, they had their first date. They met for a few beers and decided to grab a super early breakfast at Kanto Freestyle. As they were walking towards Nico’s car, Bec casually leaned on his shoulder and he thought, “Grabe naman ‘to, type na type niya talaga siguro ako.”
THE EPIC PROPOSAL
Nico took Bec on a beach camping trip on February 25 (their anniversary). He also formally asked Bec’s parents permission to propose a week before their anniversary. Everything was perfectly set up and Nico thought that it would be nice to propose during sunset. They went to the pier, took photos, and when he’s about to get on one knee, the foreman came running and told them to leave because it’s unsafe. After getting kicked out of the pier, they’ve found a perfect spot with pink skies and a calm sea as their background. When Nico was done setting his phone for a video, he walked towards Bec, kneeled, and fired the question, “Babe, we have been together for three years, will you do me the honor of spending the rest of your life with me?”
To say that Bec was surprised is an understatement. When she heard Nico’s short but sweet proposal, everything was like a blur and she couldn’t process what’s happening. So the first words that she uttered instead of yes were “I hate you!” Nico even thought it was a “no”. Eventually, Bec came to her senses and gave him a nod. Then she asked him to stand up, and they hugged, kissed, and cried.
ALTERED PLANS
Nico and Bec originally planned an El Nido, Palawan wedding on February 25, 2022. The couple loves traveling and Palawan is a perfect place for a destination and intimate wedding. As pandemic restrictions are still in place, they decided to postpone their El Nido wedding and went for an intimate, civil wedding in Supreme Court.
