How does an intimate wedding sound to you? Does the idea sound too simple? Believe us, it is not! It can still be absolutely fascinating! Take our Batanes destination shoot for example, where we shot a beautiful intimate wedding. Here’s what happened:
GM and Odai decided to have an intimate destination wedding in Batanes. They only had 20 guests more or less, with just two sponsors. They did not want the usual grand wedding that almost everyone else is having. They wanted it to be more personal, meaningful, private, and of course, intimate. It was different in a very refreshing and gratifying way!
The moment we met their guests, they immediately made us feel like we were part of their ‘barkada’! They were so fun to be with. We found the atmosphere to be comfortably light and friendly. We think that this is because the guests felt free to be their natural selves since they were really familiar with each other. Seeing how everyone looked so comfortable together actually made it way easier for us to take great shots!
Their theme was an all-white motif. There was also a hint of UP (University of the Philippines) culture with the sunflowers by the aisle and the attire of everyone else, since the couple and most of the guests were UP graduates. There were even DIY wedding accessories and props! It was all perfectly designed for this photogenic destination wedding! Our highlights on the overall unique experience were the seaside reception where they had barbeques, the partying by the bonfire at dusk, and the shots with their barkada a day before the wedding!
If you think intimate weddings sound simple, maybe now is the time for you to realize that it is not. GM and Odai made it possible for an intimate wedding to be a truly remarkable, memorable, one-of-a-kind wedding! And it is possible for any couple to do the same, even without having to go all the way to Batanes for it. Check out their photos below and start planning yours soon!
